My Apologies

My apologies to someone out there
Someone who thinks they made me be here
And I don’t show concern about them
I apologise for letting you talk about how you helped me

My apologies to these souls
That wonder around in rage
Closed in hatred’s cage
Because they see me on every page

My apologies to someone who thinks
All my doings are meant to hurt them
That all my success was my plan to prove them
That I did anything on purpose to provoke them, my apologies

My apologies to my enemies if I got any
For in this world we’re many
And you can’t love everybody
You can’t please everybody

My apologies if you’ve struggled
Struggled to put me down
But you failed, my apologies
It’s not your fault you couldn’t, but God got me

My apologies to you who laugh when I cry
Discourage me when I try
Get ashamed when I fly
And hide when you see me up high
